Poinciana Masjid and Community Center

Project Overview

The Poinciana Masjid and Community Center is an initiative dedicated to meeting the growing needs of the Muslim community in Poinciana, Florida. There is currently no masjid 16-mile south of the area, making it essential to establish a place of worship and community support in this expanding region. With the area’s population steadily increasing and land prices remaining attractive to future homeowners, the establishment of a masjid and community center will provide a central hub for religious, educational, and community activities.

Why Poinciana?

No Masjid in the Area: Poinciana is currently underserved in terms of religious infrastructure, with no masjid located 16 miles south of our current location.
Growing Muslim Community: The Muslim community in Poinciana is growing rapidly, with many families seeking a central location to gather for prayers, religious events, education for their kids, and community support.
Strategic Location: The site is located on top of Pleasant Hill Road, ensuring that the masjid will be conveniently located for many members of the community. Pleasant hill road also receives heavy vehicle traffic, ensuring our project will be seen by every vehicle.

Project Milestones

The project began in 2020 with the establishment of our current Musallah. Soon after, by the grace of Allah, a 5-acre plot of land was donated for this project by a generous donor!
The masjid has continuously hosted successful Salah, Jummah, and Taraweeh prayers, showing the demand and the community’s commitment to this project.
The facility will not only be a masjid but also a community center, academy, and future plans of various initiatives like a halal grocery store and athletic facilities, ensuring that it will serve the educational and cultural needs of the community.
The Tax ID Number for the non-profit organization has been obtained, ensuring that all donations are tax-deductible.

Phase 1 Goal

The Phase 1 goal for this project is $250,000, which will be used for:

Land Clearing & Preparation: Clearing the land to prepare for construction.
Architectural Plans: Designing the layout and structure of the masjid, community center, school, and other facilities.
Civil Engineering Plans: Engineering the site to ensure all aspects of the project comply with local regulations and standards.
Site Leveling: Ensuring the land is properly leveled for construction.
